1966 GT 40. Unique, left-hand drive "Ferrari Killer" racecar! This car has a Ford 427 side-oiler NOS (new old stock) engine, just like the car that beat Ferrari and won 1st, 2nd AND 3rd at Le Mans in 1967. Car is red with white racing stripes and is totally STREET LEGAL: licensed and inspected to be driven on the street.

Superformance car #224 is a continuation car with 98% of its parts interchanging with the original car that won Le Mans. It is one of two known to exist with side-oiler 427 FE motors, running a single 4-barrel carburetor with 587 horsepower at 5700 RPM, with a 675 horse RBI trans axle. Car has original style "Bundle of Snakes" exhaust system (so sweet!) and cross-drilled Wilwood 4-piston disc-brakes at front and rear. Wheels are original-style knock-offs with Avion speed-rated tires. A/C is an added option along with a Dan Gurney Bubble for tall drivers. Steering wheel is removable for easy entry. Car also has adjustable rack and pinion steering as original. Instrument panel is fitted with Smith gauges. Interior has original-style seats with silver rivets. Only 3,586 miles on this rare example, 700 miles on the track with speeds up to 165 mph. Geared to run up to 238 mph; aerodynamically stable up to 187 mph.

Why buy a Ferrari like everyone else when you can have a GT 40? Extremely fast, reliable, unique and fun to drive. Car is for sale due to reduction of eccentric gentleman's personal collection. Please contact by email or phone for more information. Photos of car being built and Dyno documentation are available upon purchase.

In addition to this GT 40 replica, we also have another MKII painted in the same red/white scheme. This other car has a ZF transaxle and Holman Moody built 302 V-8. We would consider removing the drivetrain and selling the rolling chassis to anyone if interested.
